Drop off qualifying C&D at 1800 Holmes Road

Tannahill’s Holmes Road operation receives qualifying construction and demolition material from contractors, businesses and other customers bringing their own loads. Lumber, drywall, metals, plastics and cardboard are part of the mixed-C&D inquiry. Describe the whole load, including masonry, fixtures or unusual items, so the request reflects what is in the vehicle.

The regular published hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday, 7 AM to 1 PM. The station is closed Sunday. Call 713-657-0004 with the material, approximate amount, vehicle and intended arrival. Check the current receiving arrangements for dates affected by holidays, weather or other operating changes.

Drivers bring a hard hat and safety vest, check in and follow the yard team’s unloading directions. Keep the address and contact with the driver. The drop-off preparation guide helps assemble the material and dispatch information before the truck leaves the project.

Choose mixed debris or the separate rubble operation

Mixed C&D and clean rubble have different receiving paths at the Holmes Road facility. Tannahill handles qualifying mixed building debris. Houston Crushed Concrete handles concrete and pavement asphalt separately, on 713-799-2000. Name the operation when directing the driver so a shared facility does not become a single undifferentiated disposal instruction.

Dirt and soil, roofing shingles and asphalt roofing material are excluded from Tannahill’s receiving stream. Keep liquids, oils, lead-acid batteries, used oil filters, scrap tires, Freon-containing items and regulated hazardous, PCB or radioactive waste out as well. The materials overview explains the main distinctions.

For a building or road project, split the inquiry by actual material. An interior strip-out may generate mixed wood and drywall while a later slab phase produces concrete. A roadwork job may include pavement rubble and excavation spoil. The concrete and asphalt path covers the rubble inquiry without treating soil or every other project material as acceptable.

Prepare your truck or trailer for arrival

Tannahill lists pickups, utility trailers, dump trailers and commercial vehicles for qualifying loads. Identify your actual vehicle in the inquiry, especially where dimensions, loading or unloading requirements could affect the arrival. A broad vehicle category is a starting point for planning, not a reason to skip the details of the truck you are sending.

Secure the load for transport and keep excluded items out before departure. The driver should know the material description and where it came from, rather than arrive with only a project address and no account of the contents. On site, check in and follow the team’s directions for the unloading area.

If an item needs lifting or another special unloading arrangement, describe that need before dispatch. Plan your own crew and equipment responsibilities as part of the project. The commercial hauler page covers the practical handoff from estimator or site manager to the person delivering the debris.

Price the load before your trip

Start the price inquiry with the material, approximate amount and vehicle. “Drywall and framing lumber in a dump trailer” provides a clearer scope than “one load of business waste.” Include the things that make the load different, such as dense masonry, wet material, large fixtures or a mixture from several project phases.

Use an estimate when you do not have a measurement, and say how it was made. Container size, pile dimensions and expected truckloads are different descriptions. Keeping them labeled makes the inquiry easier to interpret and avoids treating nominal capacity as actual quantity.

Call Tannahill on 713-657-0004 for the current load price and receiving arrangements. For a project with more than one trip, describe whether the material will remain consistent. Use the disposal cost guide to prepare a complete scope, rather than importing another Houston yard’s posted rates or assuming that every station uses the same charging method.

Fit Holmes Road into a multi-load job

Use the published weekday and Saturday schedule when planning the sequence, then arrange the actual receiving details for the load. Saturday's 7 AM to 1 PM schedule is shorter than the weekday 7 AM to 5 PM schedule, so a multi-trip plan needs to account for the whole loading, travel, unloading and return cycle.

Keep a common project name, material description and receiving contact with each driver. If the job changes from mixed interior debris to concrete rubble, update both the description and the receiving operation. Do not carry the first load's arrangement forward as though every later truck contains the same thing.

The multiple-load guide helps organize these movements. If a container at the site would fit the project’s pace better, commercial dumpster rental is the supporting option. Rental delivery and pickup are a separate task from arranging arrival in your own vehicle.

Holmes Road and the surrounding Houston area

Community life east of State Highway 288

Holmes Road provides a recognizable south Houston destination for the 1800 Holmes Road receiving inquiry. Nearby Sunnyside is a distinct community east of State Highway 288 and south of Loop 610. Sims Bayou runs along the community’s southern side.

Sunnyside Park and the Sunnyside Community Center are on Bellfort Boulevard, with the community center at 3502 Bellfort. The Sunnyside Multi-Service and Health Center on Reed Road is another established community destination. Parks, recreation and neighborhood services are part of everyday life around the wider area.

For a hauler, use the receiving station’s actual address and the route suitable for the vehicle. A nearby community landmark can help explain the surrounding area, but the dispatch instruction should remain 1800 Holmes Road and the correct receiving operation. Compare that trip with the Neuens Road receiving destination based on material and project location, rather than neighborhood names alone.

Answered Questions

What are the Holmes Road station hours?

Tannahill publishes Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, Saturday, 7 AM to 1 PM and Sunday closed. Call 713-657-0004 for current load receiving arrangements, including holiday or weather-related changes. Plan enough time for the complete trip rather than treating a posted closing time as an unloading appointment.

Can I bring concrete to Tannahill?

Concrete and pavement asphalt are handled by Houston Crushed Concrete separately at the Holmes Road facility. Call 713-799-2000 for that receiving inquiry. Keep rubble separate from Tannahill mixed C&D, and give the driver the receiving operation’s name.

What should the driver bring?

Bring a hard hat and safety vest, the material description, the destination and receiving contact. Secure the load before travel. Check in on arrival and follow the yard team’s directions for unloading; describe any unusual vehicle or unloading need before dispatch.

Does Holmes Road accept dirt or roofing shingles?

No. Tannahill does not accept dirt or soil, asphalt roofing material or shingles. Keep them out of a mixed-C&D load. Identify every stream from the project separately so an acceptable building-debris load does not become a mixture with excluded material.
